I believe this movie contains nearly the best frags, that you have ever seen, or even that you have never dreamt about. On the other hand, it was kind of
pain in the ass to watch all kalias' demos (over 800), but it was worthy. After few months of working on it, I hope I've managed to create a very unique movie, that will attract you attention - you can expect very pr0 frags, hope smooth editing and 11 mins of synced action. Smile

GROULINK is an ut2004 fragmovie featuring the player GoHLinK and edited by Flesh, both of us are French players.
when i decided to start this movie, i knew i had to be up to his skill, so i tried to make something that fits to his agressive playstyle, with fast transitions and a lot of stunning effects, involving making every idea become a reality ! Whatever it costs ...
I was not afraid to spend a big part of my freetime in some hardcore editing, but still without being too serious in order to keep it funny and entertaining.

No regular demosupport for UT 3 ?

General News Review
General News Review

Demos recorded with the "demorec" console command worked in the unpatched UT3 but after the beta patches you couldnt watch them anymore. We all thought this would be a bug in the beta patches but more and more this seem to be planned as a feature!

It seems like Epic is planning to shut the "demorec" and "demoplay" commands down so that you CAN NOT record a demo online yourself anymore. A comment made on Epics mailinglist said 'Client demos aren't supported; it's not supposed to let you try to record.'
And Epics Jeff Morris said about this: "UT3 only supports server side demos, which would include instant action." What botheres me is that he didnt include a "yet", like this is not going to change.

Great so either we are a serveradmin to get demos or we make movies out of bot matches ? Welcome to 2007.

The demos recorded with the demorec command worked in the unpatched UT3 and now a patch should change that ?
I have no clue why they would do that. Maybe cause they couldnt make client side recorded demos to work as good as server side demos. But the differences between server and clientside demos never really bothered us much in the past.

I hope the Community will not accept this nonsense. I dont have to stress how bad this would be. Not only for moviemakers.

*edit*
At least 3 threads about this in the Epic forum just got closed or deleted so the problem seems to be real and maybe Epic will tell us why after the first official patch is released. It seems like the ut3 comm will have to organize a good working demosharing network between serveradmins and users. Maybe this could be done. We will see.

*edit2*
Well to be fair, and cause some people got it wrong, it has to be said that Epic didnt just shut client demos down for fun. They barely work in the unpatched version and are very bugged. So the reason why they dont want us to record client side demos is that client demos dont work properly atm. The question is why ? And why does it look like they dont want to change that ? Sooner or later i hope they will realise that client demos are very important and theat they really should try to make them work.

*edit3*
With beta patch 4 you can play clientside demos again but with the same bugs they had in the unpatched version. For example your playermodel doesent move. The other players do move, but most weaponeffects are missing and models seem to appear/disappear kinda randomly. Epic made a statement saying that they didnt implement clientside demorecording and thats kinda how it looks. there only seems to be a littlebit left from UT04 that wasent adjusted to UT3. However they tend to not talk about their plans so maybe they will finnish whats left from 2k4 clientside demorecording to make it work correctly with UT3. Or maybe they gave up cause there seem to be unfixable problems. And with RypelCam i wont be able to fix this huge clientside problems i think.

Rcam Official Release
Rcam Official Release

RypelCam is now available for the new Unreal Tournament 3 and should allow you to make some stunning movies in this beautiful game!

There are 2 versions right now.
One for the unpatched version of UT3 and one for users that already
installed the UT3 (beta)patch.

(The only difference between this RypelCam versions is that the latter doesent make use of the new slomo function that the first patch introduced. But the beta patches seems to have a unfixable bug that doesent allow you to watch demos that were recorded online!!)

I made a short demonstration video to give you an idea about how RypelCam looks like in  the new engine:

Thx to meep and Kronos for betatesting.
